What Should I Bring on a Fishing Trip in Cabo?

What Should I Bring on a Fishing Trip in Cabo

Cabo San Lucas borders the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. Therefore, it doesn’t come as a surprise that this resort city is one of the best fishing destinations in the world. Whether you are a fishing enthusiast or this is a form of excursion you have always wanted to engage in, Cabo is the perfect destination. If you have made up your mind to make a fishing trip to Cabo, here is a list of items that will ensure you have an unforgettable experience.

1. Appropriate Fishing Clothing

The wrong attire can significantly affect your fishing experience. Like any other sport, you need to wear light clothing when you are on a fishing trip in Cabo San Lucas. A pair of shorts and a light t-shirt always work perfectly. Sometimes, it can get pretty windy. It’s a good idea to bring along a windbreaker.

A hat is another thing you shouldn’t forget when packing clothes for a fishing trip. The sun here in Cabo can be pretty brutal. Don’t forget sunglasses, as well.

It can be tempting to wear sandals on a fishing trip. But fishing boats are always wet. Therefore, the best shoes are those that don’t skid.

2. Sunscreen and Moisturizer

Never visit Cabo without sunscreen. This resort city has a desert-like climate. Therefore, the sun is always shining. As much as this may be a good thing for tourists. Without sunscreen, you may end up with severe sunburns.

Since you will be spending a lot of time at sea and wearing light clothing, you must wear sunscreen at all times. As you enjoy your private fishing charter, you must protect your skin.

3. Food and Snacks

When you charter a fishing boat with RCSL, we will provide you with all the essential fishing gear, including rods, weights, and baits. However, we also go the extra mile and give you access to a private chef.

A fishing trip can last several hours. During that period, you will need to eat and drink. If interested, you can be accompanied by one of our talented private chefs onboard your yacht. The chef will prepare and serve drinks or snacks. They can also cook the fish you will have caught. And you can enjoy a freshly prepared meal in the middle of the ocean.

4. Motion Sickness Medication

This doesn’t apply to everyone. But if you usually get seasick, bringing some seasickness medication is a good idea. Getting seasick onboard a fishing charter can ruin your experience. It’s a good idea to counter this issue even before it starts. Buy some motion sickness medication, and take one the night before your excursion. Ensure that you take seasickness medication as prescribed.

5. A Camera

This is a trip that you don’t want to forget. The best way to capture memories is by photographing them. A camera will document all your fishing experience. You can also take photos of your catches. If you decide to use your phone camera, make sure you have a waterproof bag. That will prevent your phone from getting wet.

If you are planning a fishing trip to Cabo San Lucas, you can stay in one of our luxury villas which are popular for providing five-star concierge services. We can also organize fishing charters for you and your family, friends, or companions.
